The Ondo State Government has announced plans to train 200 women in urban agriculture as part of its ongoing efforts to promote economic empowerment and self-reliance among women in the state.
In a statement issued in Akure, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye, said the training will hold on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. within the premises of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

According to her, the capacity-building programme will be conducted in three segments — Poultry and Fisheries Starter Pack, Crop Production Aspect, and Ruminant Starter Pack — designed to equip participants with practical skills in sustainable agricultural ventures.
Dr. Osamaye noted that the training is open to all interested women and is completely free of charge. She added that the initiative reflects the commitment of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration to empowering women, enhancing their economic independence, and promoting inclusive development through agriculture.
