The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has called on Nigerians to remain united and rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the nation marks its 65th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau urged citizens to look beyond present challenges and support the government’s ongoing reforms aimed at steering the country toward prosperity.
He noted that the benefits of President Tinubu’s economic reforms are already becoming evident, while security has improved significantly in the last two years.
“As we celebrate the 65th Independence Anniversary of our beloved country, we must remember the sacrifices of our founding fathers—Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa—and recommit ourselves to their ideals of unity, peace, justice, and tolerance,” Senator Barau said.
