A former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Mike Omeri Agbo-Omeri, has expressed deep shock over the death of former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Barrister Solomon Ewuga, describing him as a key figure in the creation of the state.
Nasarawa was among six states—Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Gombe, and Zamfara—created on October 1, 1996, by the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
Ewuga, who also served as Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness at the age of 70.
In a condolence statement issued on Thursday, Omeri described the late Ewuga as “one of the outstanding sons of Nasarawa State who contributed immensely to its emergence and progress through unwavering faith and compassion.”
He further called for Ewuga to be immortalised in recognition of his impactful life and service to both the state and the nation.

“On behalf of myself, my family and associates, I wish to extend condolences to the Eggon traditional rulers and people, urging them to find comfort in the enduring legacy of love, discipline, and devotion that the illustrious son of the state faithfully embodied throughout his life,” Omeri stated.
While thanking God for the gift of Ewuga’s life, the former NOA DG prayed for strength, fortitude, and peace for the bereaved family, assuring them of his solidarity, prayers, and support.
