Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, FCNA, has celebrated the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on the occasion of her 65th birthday, lauding her impact on democracy, governance, and social development.
In a congratulatory message, Senator Barau praised the First Lady’s commitment to nation-building, particularly through her flagship programme, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which he said has been instrumental in addressing Nigeria’s social challenges since 2023.
“I join all Nigerians and well-wishers across the world in congratulating Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on her 65th birthday celebration,” Barau stated.
Describing her as “a patriotic Nigerian par excellence,” the Deputy Senate President highlighted her enduring contributions to democracy and public service, tracing her efforts back to her tenure as First Lady of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007, where she impacted millions of women, youths, and children through the New Era Foundation.
He further recalled her legislative achievements during her 12-year stint in the Senate, where she represented Lagos Central Senatorial District from 2011 to 2023, noting that she left “no stone unturned” in addressing national challenges through various committees.
Barau prayed for her continued good health, long life, and wisdom as she supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria’s peace and progress.
“Once again, Happy Birthday, Your Excellency, the Mother of the Nation,” he added.
