Senate Minority Whip, Senator Rufai Sani Hanga, representing Kano Central senatorial district has despised the pace in which matters are treated in the Tenth Senate, saying the marathon in which things were done here, I’m not happy.
He emphasized that some senators are favored more than others in terms of constituency projects allocations, “in my opinion, the marathon in which things are done are not as they should be.”
The Senator representing Kano Central senatorial district, made this statement on Thursday, in Abuja during an interactive session with the New Media Forum on the reviews of the tenth senate performance under the leadership Senator Godswill Akpabio. Senate President.
Senator Rafui Sani Hanga further advocated for equity for constituents allocation, He added that we are treated fairly because we’ve not had any serious thing to know whether there is justice or not up till now.
“Not much anyway, when I was around. So I’ve not seen something that will warrant me to judge whether we are treated fairly or not. Because all I know is my colleagues and others in the leadership have been saying, OK, look, we are like a family. Let us behave like a family. Let us be our brothers’ keepers. That is why I am always my true self. When things are happening, I come out to frankly say it as it is. Not only to the world, but to my colleagues and my leaders. Because since we have agreed to be like a family, since we have agreed to be our brothers’ keepers, so I say it as it is.
“Those things, this and this happening are not good, we should change our tactics. Because the public’s eyes are on us. And I know what I encounter when I go back home.
“I know what I encounter when I go to do some things with friends. I know what I encounter when I go to do some things with my friends here and there. How much we are abused for being this or that. You understand? So I come and tell them as it is. And that has helped a lot. You know, things change. I mean, some things are changing in a way. I’ve never seen why I talk to my colleagues or to my leaders frankly about something.”
Commenting on Senator Ningi’s return, the Senate Minority Whip said that he was betrayed, “ if I were there I would have spoken against it.
“He was betrayed he wouldn’t have done what he did without having discussed with others in the minority you understand what he did say was no party there was no part no fighting at all that this is a project from what he said he said there was some fairness that some people are favored more than others so was that true it’s true it’s true okay so that’s an opposition excuse me sir some people are favorite more than others as an opposition party. in allocating constituency projects this is what he said I spoke to him, this is what he said, but you know, some people may interpret it as whatever they want to interpret.
“And if somebody says, I have seen this in the budget, that is no heading, you know better. There are certain things that you do not have any head in because there are certain things in the budget that are not subjected to any defense from voters.”
