Director General of National Emergency Management Agency Mustapha Habib Ahmed, consoled with Governor of Adamawa state Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over Boat Mishap and Advocacy for the use of life Jackets and safe canoeing practices on the inland waterways.
Director General NEMA, paid a courtesy visit to Adamawa State recently. The purpose was to offer condolences to the people of Adamawa and promote the use of life jackets and safe canoeing practices on inland waterways.
Accompanying the DG were Director Search And Rescue Air Commodore KR Mataluwo, SA to the DG Idris Muhammed, and Deputy Director Operations Bashir Idris Garga. During his remarks at Government House Yola, the DG emphasized the need to reconsider disaster risk management, especially concerning annual flood disasters and boat accidents along major rivers, stressing that some of these disasters are predictable and avoidable.
The Governor expressed gratitude to the DG and his team for the visit, commending NEMA’s effective emergency response in Nigeria and specifically in Adamawa state.
