Assistant Corps Marshal Adeoye Irelewuyi, Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called for unity and teamwork among officers and staff of Lagos sector command.
Irelewuyi made the call during his working visit to the Lagos State Sector Command.
He noted that supporting the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, was vital for maintaining the success and integrity of the FRSC as an elite corps.
“I commend the Lagos sector command for maintaining its position as the top-performing command for the last 12 years.
“I also appreciate the sector commander for his versatile leadership, experience, and in-depth understanding of Lagos’s operational landscape. The command’s leadership is pivotal to effective operations and administration,” he said.
He further highlighted Lagos’s history of excellence, including being the first to host a Regimental Dinner, expressing a desire for this tradition to be revived.
The ZCO stressed the importance of unity and teamwork among personnel, noting that undermining the sector commander equates to undermining the entire Corps.
He expressed his appreciation to Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, for his leadership in enhancing staff welfare, capacity building, and policy implementation.
He recognised the significant progress made in capacity-building initiatives between June and September and shared plans for future officer training programs.
Irelewuyi urged officers to maximise available training opportunities and demonstrate their competence in daily duties, helping to elevate the public perception of the FRSC as a top-tier organisation.
He also encouraged increased adoption of technology, including the FRSC Mobile App, to enhance efficiency and reduce risks during road safety operations.
He called for support in establishing an officers’ mess and an FRSC band for Lagos, an initiative he said would aim at boosting morale and camaraderie within the command.
