
Abuja – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the implementation of the new N70,000 national minimum wage for staff of the FCT Administration.
This announcement was made on Tuesday in Abuja by the Acting Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, through a statement issued by her Press Secretary, Ewhenji Anthony Odey.
Mrs. Adayilo revealed that the Minister also approved the payment of three months’ salary arrears for all FCTA staff, effective from November 2024.
According to the statement, the decision underscores the Minister’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of FCT Administration staff.
“This gesture is expected to motivate the entire workforce to support the Minister in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Mrs. Adayilo stated.
She also expressed gratitude to the Minister for consistently granting swift approvals for the payment of staff allowances and claims, emphasizing his dedication to employee welfare.
