The Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation has announced plans to collaborate with the Nigerian Air Force to address water challenges at several Air Force bases across the country.
The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev, disclosed this during a meeting with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, at his office in Abuja.
Professor Utsev emphasized the critical role of water in ensuring the smooth operations of military personnel. He revealed that a technical team would be deployed immediately to assess the existing water facilities at Air Force bases facing water shortages. The assessment will enable targeted interventions to improve water supply for Air Force personnel and their operations.

The Minister also commended the Nigerian Air Force and other military formations for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity. He assured Air Marshal Abubakar of continued collaboration and support to address their needs effectively.
In his remarks, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar explained that his visit aimed to seek the Ministry’s intervention in resolving water supply issues at Air Force bases in Gombe, Kaduna, and Bayelsa states. He noted that improving water access at these bases would significantly enhance their operational efficiency.
