Tola Adenubi Elected TCAN Chairman

The Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN) has elected a new executive committee, with Mr. Tola Adenubi of the Nigerian Tribune emerging as Chairman. Adenubi will lead the association for the next three years.

The election, held on Thursday in Lagos, saw journalists covering the transportation sector vote in new leaders to take over from the outgoing executives.

Other elected executives include:

Temitope Adebayo (Daily Times) – Vice Chairman

Seun Ibiyemi (NewsDirect) – Secretary

David Adekunle (Voice of Nigeria – VON) – Treasurer

Mathew Ukachunwa (New Nigeria) – Internal Auditor

Commitment to Growth and Professionalism

In his acceptance speech, Adenubi expressed gratitude to members for entrusting him with the leadership of TCAN. He pledged to promote professionalism, strengthen collaboration with industry stakeholders, and advocate for improved infrastructure and policies in Nigeria’s transportation sector.

He also assured members of initiatives aimed at enhancing their welfare while advancing the industry’s growth through impactful journalism.

Outgoing Chairman’s Charge to New Leadership

The outgoing Chairman, Mr. Yinka Aderibigbe (The Nation Newspaper), thanked members for their support throughout his tenure. He urged the new executive team to build on existing achievements and strive for the continuous improvement of the association.
