…Parents, Neighbours Urge FCT Minister to Shut Down School Over Security Lapses
DAWAKI, ABUJA — The husband of Mrs. Patricia Chinyere Anaele, a school nurse at Clear Hope Foundation Academy in Dawaki, Bwari Area Council, has debunked earlier reports of her kidnap, declaring instead that she was gruesomely murdered within the school premises by a security guard and his accomplice.
Speaking at a press briefing in front of the now-locked school on Monday, Engineer Emmanuel Anaele said his wife and a 14-month-old baby in her care were killed by the school’s gateman, David Moses, and his accomplice, Sunday, who remains on the run.
“This was not a kidnap. It was outright murder,” Anaele said. “Her body was wheeled out and dumped in a canal. This was a premeditated act committed within the school. The narrative of abduction is false and misleading.”
Anaele further alleged that the school proprietor, Dr. Abu Alasa—who also owns Kings Care Hospital—has neither reached out to the bereaved families nor shown remorse. He accused the school of negligence and alleged attempts to suppress police investigations.
“I hold the proprietor and the security company responsible. The FCT Minister must act now or more lives may be lost,” he warned.
David Moses reportedly confessed to the FCT Police Command that he and Sunday killed Mrs. Anaele and the infant after abducting them and demanding ₦3 million in ransom. The plot unraveled after a disagreement between the accomplices, leading Moses to surrender to police.
Parents and community members who attended the briefing expressed outrage, calling for the immediate closure of the school. One parent, Mr. Femi Emmanuel, said he and his wife had previously considered withdrawing their child due to poor service delivery.

“Our fears were not unfounded. This school is unsafe. It must be shut down permanently,” he said.
Police have since taken the school’s principal and the manager of the security company into custody as investigations continue. The school remains sealed off by authorities.
