President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday called on all Muslims observing Ramadan to embrace the profound lessons of piety, humility, and selflessness that define the holy month.
He emphasized that this sacred period is an opportunity to strengthen one’s bond with Allah and foster unity and peace within communities.
“I congratulate the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world as we begin the sacred month of Ramadan,” Tinubu said. “We are profoundly grateful to Almighty Allah for granting us the grace to witness this holy month, a cornerstone of the Islamic faith. May this period of fasting and devotion bring good health, spiritual fulfillment, and divine blessings.”
The President highlighted that Ramadan is a time for deep reflection, renewed devotion to Allah, and acts of compassion and generosity toward others.
“It is a season of spiritual rejuvenation, self-discipline, and empathy for the less fortunate,” he noted.
Tinubu also linked this year’s Ramadan to a period of renewed hope and progress for Nigeria, citing the positive impact of his administration’s economic policies.
“Our bold and transformative policies are beginning to yield results. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the last quarter of 2024 showed significant improvement compared to the same period in 2023. The once-soaring prices of essential food items are now declining, providing much-needed relief to Nigerians observing the fast and the population at large. The exchange rate is stabilizing, and fuel prices are falling—signs of a brighter future ahead.”
As the wet season approaches, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to boosting agricultural productivity, ensuring food security, and driving national self-sufficiency through targeted support, mechanization, and innovative farming initiatives.

The President concluded his message with a call for national unity, urging all Nigerians to come together in prayer and collective action for the country’s continued progress.
“In this sacred month, I call on all Nigerians to join hands in prayer and action for our beloved country’s growth and development. Let us fervently seek Allah’s guidance and protection for our nation, and let our words and deeds reflect our shared commitment to peace, unity, and progress.”
He extended his heartfelt wishes to all Muslims observing Ramadan, hoping for a month filled with joy, peace, and spiritual renewal.
“May the blessings of this holy month illuminate our hearts and homes, and may we emerge from it as better individuals and a stronger nation,” Tinubu said.
