President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the strong relationship between Nigeria and France, highlighting French President Emmanuel Macron’s enduring interest in Africa.
Tinubu expressed optimism that Macron’s goodwill would further strengthen bilateral ties and contribute to the continent’s progress.

Speaking at a State Dinner hosted by the French government at the Palais des Elysée in Paris on Thursday night, Tinubu called for continued collaboration between Nigerian and French citizens to sustain the positive relationship shared by their nations.
The Nigerian leader was accompanied by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, top government officials, business leaders, and the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
“It is a great honor for me to be here, and today has been remarkable thanks to your exceptional reception,” Tinubu said. “Your deep understanding of Nigeria, combined with your warmth, commitment, and foresight regarding Africa, is truly commendable.
“France has overcome significant challenges to champion freedom, democracy, and shared commitment. Your efforts inspire us to build a continent that connects with its people, resonates with their aspirations, and prioritizes development,” he added.
Tinubu extended his gratitude to President Macron and his wife, Brigitte, for the warm reception and hospitality during the three-day visit. He also acknowledged the presence of prominent Nigerian business leaders, including Aliko Dangote, Aig Imoukhuede, and Tony Elumelu, as a testament to France’s enduring ties with Nigeria.
The Nigerian president reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transformative reforms, emphasizing their significance not just for Nigeria but for Africa as a whole.
