President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday assured Nigerians that his administration would sustain ongoing economic reforms to deliver greater prosperity, as he commended Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for their performance in governance and security.
Speaking during a one-day official visit to Yola, the Adamawa State capital, President Tinubu said the federal government’s economic repositioning was already yielding results, particularly in education, health and infrastructure, with increased allocations enabling states to execute impactful projects.
The President emphasised that his administration would continue to prioritise macroeconomic stability, agricultural investment and human capital development to ensure food security and inclusive growth.
“We will achieve more macroeconomic successes. We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must be able to feed ourselves and feed the country,” Tinubu said, noting that stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments was driving tangible development.
He praised Governor Fintiri for effectively utilising federal allocations to construct critical infrastructure, including roads, model schools and judicial facilities, describing him as “a true reflection of a government of the people, by the people and for the people.”
Tinubu highlighted key projects commissioned during the visit, including an eight-lane road with an underpass designed to ease traffic congestion and boost commercial activities, as well as a modern High Court complex aimed at strengthening the administration of justice.
The President also urged state governments nationwide to channel more resources into poverty reduction, particularly through improved access to quality education for children.
In a strong endorsement of the nation’s security architecture, Tinubu commended Ribadu, a native of Adamawa State, for what he described as bold and committed leadership in tackling insecurity.
“With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists. You’re doing an excellent job, and we are seeing the results,” the President said.
Earlier, Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation to the President for visiting and commissioning projects across the state. He disclosed that the state government had invested N24.8 billion in constructing 21 model schools across the 21 local government areas.
According to him, the expanded Galadima Aminu Road with overhead bridge and underpass, alongside the dualised Gimba Road, cost N15.6 billion, while the remodelled High Court Complex and a newly constructed Government House office complex cost N5.5 billion and N6.3 billion respectively.

Fintiri pledged continued support for the President’s reform agenda, describing the federal policies as laudable and beneficial to subnational development.
The event was attended by several governors, including Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, alongside ministers and other top government officials.
