Cabul Network Boosts Learning in FCT, Distributes Uniforms and Books to Pupils Amid Rising Hardship
The Cabul Network Community Development Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, has distributed school uniforms, exercise books, and writing materials to pupils of Waru LEA School in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in an effort to support families struggling under rising economic hardship and to reduce educational inequality in the community.
Speaking during the outreach, the Chairman of the organisation, Mr. Okechukwu Okorie, called on philanthropists and corporate bodies to increase support for vulnerable children across the country.
Okorie explained that the Waru LEA intervention reflects how significantly modest acts of generosity can transform underserved communities. He urged well-meaning Nigerians to commit more actively to supporting education, noting that many families can no longer afford basic learning materials.
“With many parents finding it difficult to meet even the most basic school needs, private philanthropy has become a crucial lifeline for keeping children in school and securing their future,” he said.
The Head Teacher, Mr. Dikko Sol, and Assistant Head Teacher, Mr. Adasa Reuben, commended the initiative, describing it as a reminder that progress in education often begins with individuals and organisations willing to extend a helping hand.
They encouraged more Nigerians—professionals, business owners, and community leaders—to emulate such efforts to help bridge the resource gaps faced by public schools.

One of the beneficiaries, a pupil of the school, Loyalty Taye, expressed joy and gratitude, saying the support would make his learning experience easier.
The distribution exercise took place on the school grounds in Waru, a community about 10 kilometres from Abuja city centre.
