The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for authorizing the commencement of the inaugural phase of the Consumer Credit Scheme.
Speaker Abbas highlighted that the president’s endorsement of the scheme exemplifies his unwavering commitment and determination to enhance the livelihoods of Nigerians through policies and programs centered around the people.
In a press statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, on Wednesday in Abuja, the Speaker expressed his delight that Nigerians who wish to improve their lives now have the opportunity to access credit for goods and services, with repayment based on mutually agreed terms.
Speaker Abbas emphasized that this action was consistent with his message to Nigerians on October 1, 2023, where he conveyed his optimism that Nigeria would experience prosperity under President Tinubu.
“This is a commendable initiative by the president, which, I am confident, will enhance transparency and minimize corruption and inefficiency within the civil service over time, as employees will have the chance to access credit for goods and services.”
He mentioned that the president’s decision “will ensure more sustenance for Nigerians and bring enduring joy to many individuals.”
Referring to the president’s authorization as a transformative move for numerous citizens, the Speaker encouraged Nigerians to anticipate more decisions from the Tinubu-led administration that are focused on delivering tangible outcomes and prioritizing the welfare of the people.
