….. Awards Scholarship to 31 Children

The Chairman of Seyi Vodi Foundation, Mr. Seyi Adekunle, has generously donated 10 million naira to assist the Borno State government in its endeavors to recuperate from the catastrophic floods that recently impacted the region.
The allocated funds are intended to aid in the restoration and reconstruction of areas affected by the calamity, which resulted in extensive displacement and loss of life. During a visit to Maiduguri, Adekunle conveyed his condolences to the people of Borno and applauded the state’s ongoing recovery initiatives.
In an impassioned address, Adekunle, who spent his formative years in the state, shared his profound personal attachment to Borno. “Borno holds a special place in my heart, as it is where I spent my childhood and received my education. It is truly disheartening to witness the adversities faced by the state, particularly following the overflowed of the dam that triggered the flooding,” he expressed.
Adekunle lauded the resilience and humanitarian ethos of the Borno community, despite the hardships and widespread displacement caused by the disaster.
“We are all cognizant of the repercussions the flooding has had on the people of Borno, but I have also witnessed their fortitude. I am devoted to aiding the recovery process and contributing to endeavors that uplift the populace,” he added.
Furthermore, Adekunle affirmed that the foundation would persist in collaborating with the state government and rallying support from his network, both domestically and internationally, to assist in the ongoing recovery endeavors.
“We will stand in solidarity with you until the state is entirely rehabilitated. You can rely on us to be your ally in the reconstruction of Borno,” the benefactor reiterated.
He informed the audience that the foundation would seek further contributions to augment the rebuilding efforts. In response, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, expressed appreciation for the donation and assured that the funds would be utilized effectively.
“The contribution we have received is greatly beneficial, and by the will of God, we shall utilize it effectively for our reconstruction efforts. We will continue to demonstrate our gratitude and recognition, including prayers for all those who made sacrifices during our time of trial,” he affirmed.
Engr. Bamidele Usman, Chairman BMU Construction, partners, and acquaintances were part of the delegation. The team also paid a visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Ibn Garbai, presenting a donation of N2 million.
A pivotal moment of the occasion was the visit to the Nigerian Police Force Barracks, where Adekunle spent his early years. There, he announced scholarships for 31 children, encompassing their education from primary school to university.
