President Bola Tinubu on Monday expressed confidence in the performance of the nation’s Service Chiefs, affirming that he has no plans to probe their activities.
He stressed the importance of respecting their efforts and the directives they execute.
The President made the remarks while addressing questions about the utilization of funds allocated to the Service Chiefs in combating terrorism and tackling other security challenges facing the country. Tinubu reassured Nigerians of his trust in their leadership and commitment.
“I am not probing the Service Chiefs,” Tinubu stated. “Institutions should not be undermined by a constant threat of probes. Winning this war demands substantial investment in technology, weaponry, and training.”
While acknowledging the potential for minor inefficiencies, he added: “There may be occasional leakages, but they are not widespread. We have implemented a robust control mechanism to track budget allocations, ensuring funds are used effectively and judiciously.”

President Tinubu also emphasized the difficult conditions in which the armed forces operate and called for greater recognition of their sacrifices.
“Consider the welfare of our service men and women. They are working in extremely challenging environments across a vast nation with forests and unoccupied spaces. They deserve appreciation for their unwavering dedication. I am proud of their efforts, and there is no need for a probe,” he added.
