The Barau I Jibrin Foundation (BIJF), founded by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator (Dr) Barau I Jibrin, CON, has disclosed the list of inaugural beneficiaries of its 2024 foreign postgraduate scholarships in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics technology, cybersecurity, and forensic science.
Senator Barau, who holds the esteemed position of First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, established the foundation with the noble purpose of offering humanitarian, educational, and empowerment initiatives within the nation.
Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser to Senator Barau on Media and Publicity, announced that the foundation has successfully secured admissions for deserving students hailing from the three Senatorial Districts of Kano State (Kano Central, Kano North, and Kano South Senatorial Districts) to pursue Postgraduate Programmes overseas.
The scholarship initiative was conceived as a testament to the Deputy President of the Senate’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and propelling the technological progress of the country.
“The scholarship program is specifically tailored to the domains of artificial intelligence, robotics technology, cybersecurity, and forensic science, aligning with the Deputy President of the Senate’s objective of contributing to alleviating the scarcity of specialists in these specialized fields,” he remarked.
The distribution of admission letters to the beneficiaries is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 9th, 2024, at the Amani Event Centre in Kano State.
