The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, graciously received a key aide of the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Sani Abdulkadir Dambo, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Dambo, a two-time chairman of the Kano State Board of Internal Revenue, formally declared his departure from the NNPP, the ruling party in Kano State, to the APC during a visit to the Deputy President of the Senate at his residence in Abuja on Monday.
Having been appointed as the Special Adviser on Investment by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on the 13th of August this year, Dambo expressed his allegiance to the APC both in Kano and on a national scale.
“I express my gratitude to the Almighty for guiding me back to our original home. I was initially a member of this esteemed party before my sojourn in the NNPP, but now I am reinstated in the APC.
“We will steadfastly support this journey and uphold our loyalty to the APC in Kano and across the nation.
“Employing all my skills and expertise, I am devoted to contributing to the triumph of the APC. My best wishes go out to Senator Barau and my respects to the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. May they all be continually blessed and guided by the Almighty,” he articulated.
In a similar vein, Alhaji Rabiu Alhassan Durum, a prominent figure within the NNPP in Kabo LGA of Kano State, has also transitioned to the APC.
Acknowledging the transition of these two grassroots politicians into the APC, the Deputy President of the Senate commended their decision.
Senator Barau, who also holds the position of First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, reiterated the dedication of the APC-led Federal Government to tackle the prevailing challenges in the country.
“These distinguished personalities have showcased their resolve and devotion to the advancement of our state and nation. Their dedication resonates with the core values and principles of the APC – the nation’s progression.
“We are poised to collaborate with them and all those truly committed to the transformation of our country in accordance with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Let us unite our efforts to confront the obstacles before us as a nation,” he concluded.
