Senator Barau I Jibrin Unveils Football Club to Elevates Global Standards

Following their promotion to the Nigeria Nationwide League (NNL) from the Nationwide League One (NLO), the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, has lauded Barau Football Club (BFC) for their remarkable achievement. Senator Barau expressed his admiration during a gathering with the club’s management and players at the National Assembly in Abuja on Monday,

According to a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Ismail Mudashir.

In a thrilling penalty shootout victory against Yoca Crocodiles on Sunday that concluded with a 3-2 score in favor of the Maliya Boys, BFC emerged triumphant.
Senator Barau, in his address to the team, hailed the win as a significant milestone. He praised the team’s exceptional performance and emphasized that his vision in establishing the club is to elevate it to a global standard and contribute to the country’s youth growth, employment, and development.

“I extend my gratitude to the Almighty for this triumph and appreciate the tireless efforts and dedication of the management and players that led to this success. My goal in forming this club was to establish it as a renowned global entity. This objective remains unchanged. Therefore, this is merely the initial phase of a much larger journey.

“By the grace of God, we will gather here next year to celebrate our ascension to the Premier League. The club will attain international recognition. I am confident that this club will become a source of pride for all Nigerians,”he stated.

Senator Barau, ensuring the management and players of his unwavering dedication to transforming the club into a world-class entity, urged them to prepare for a restructuring phase. He generously provided a new coaster bus, a motorcycle for each player, and a bonus of N5,000,000 to the management and players.

Earlier, the club’s chairman, Shehu Ibrahim Chanji, expressed gratitude to the Deputy President of the Senate for his dedication to football development in the nation. He highlighted that BFC’s players were carefully selected from various regions by the founder with the aim of uniting youths from across the country and fostering national unity.

“We have witnessed your commitment to us, and in return, we are fulfilling our commitments to you. Salaries, allowances, and match bonuses were promptly paid. Additionally, our team’s apparel is among the finest in the country. This is an achievement we take great pride in. We are immensely grateful to you. We pledge to do even more,”he remarked.

Representing the players, Surajo Mukhtar expressed their pride in being part of Barau Football Club, mentioning that individuals nationwide celebrate and admire them for their association with the team.
