SAGLEV Wins 2025 Nigeria EV Brand of the Year, Strengthens Indigenous Leadership in Electric Mobility
SAGLEV has clinched the 2025 Nigeria Electric Vehicle (EV) Brand of the Year Award, beating strong contenders BYD and Wuling to emerge industry leader in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding electric mobility landscape.
The prestigious honour, conferred by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), was presented at the association’s annual awards ceremony held on Tuesday, December 16, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
The event attracted major automotive industry stakeholders, policymakers, and government regulators, underscoring growing national momentum toward cleaner, alternative transportation.
Among notable dignitaries in attendance were the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, and the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed (mni), reflecting heightened institutional focus on sustainable mobility and safety standards.
According to NAJA, SAGLEV’s emergence followed a rigorous evaluation of innovation, market impact, accessibility, and policy alignment. The company’s early-mover advantage, expanding local assembly operations, and commitment to delivering affordable EV solutions tailored to Nigerian road and climatic conditions were highlighted as defining strengths. Its investments in after-sales support and charging infrastructure partnerships also distinguished it from competitors..
