LAGOS, Nigeria – As momentum builds toward the fourth edition of the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS 4.0), Plan International Nigeria is set to spotlight girls’ rights, protection, and empowerment as a critical policy priority for sustainable development across Africa.
As a theme partner at this year’s summit, scheduled for July 10–11, 2025, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Plan International Nigeria will lead high-level engagements focused on gender equity, inclusive education, education financing, youth policy, and resilient protection systems for adolescent girls—especially those living in conflict, crisis, and fragile recovery zones.
“The development conversation is incomplete if girls are still being left behind,” said Charles Usie, Country Director, Plan International Nigeria. “ASIS is a space where that reality cannot be ignored. We are here to keep the focus on meaningful change for every girl navigating risk, uncertainty and unequal systems.”
Plan International Nigeria will also highlight community-driven success stories and long-term, girl-centred interventions, reinforcing the urgency of integrated policy reforms and high-impact partnerships that place adolescent girls at the heart of national development strategies.

The Africa Social Impact Summit is convened by Sterling One Foundation in partnership with the United Nations in Nigeria, bringing together global and African leaders to co-create strategies that accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
