Dr. Chris Osa Isokpunwu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Steel Development, has underscored the urgent need to rejuvenate Nigeria’s steel sector to enhance the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and transform the economy.

Dr. Isokpunwu highlighted this commitment during a recent courtesy visit from the Association of Benin Community, Abuja, at the Ministry’s headquarters. The visit was to congratulate him on his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Isokpunwu acknowledged the significant responsibility that comes with his role, which is pivotal to the government’s strategy for economic growth. He noted, however, that with the collaboration of the Association and other key stakeholders in the steel industry, the goal is within reach.

Earlier, Barr. Lucky O. Odigie, President of the Association and leader of the delegation, praised Dr. Isokpunwu as an accomplished leader dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for all.
