Commends Ganduje’s Visionary Leadership
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has celebrated the All Progressives Congress (APC) victory in the Ondo State governorship election held on Saturday, calling it a significant endorsement of both the party and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the APC as the winner, with a commanding 366,781 votes. His main opponent, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), secured 117,845 votes, while Adeyemi Nejo of the African Democratic Party (ADP) garnered 4,138 votes.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau commended INEC for conducting a transparent election that reflected the will of the people.
He also lauded Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, for his strategic and visionary leadership that has strengthened party unity and contributed to victories in recent off-cycle elections in Imo, Kogi, and Edo states.
“The victory of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, in Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State is well-deserved. I extend my congratulations to Governor-elect H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and our supporters. This triumph is not only for the APC but for democracy and the people of Ondo State,” Senator Barau remarked.
He added, “This win further solidifies the endorsement of our party and reaffirms the trust of the people in the outstanding leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Senator Barau, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, urged Governor-elect Aiyedatiwa to be gracious in victory and called on all other candidates to join efforts in fostering the development of Ondo State.
