
Tayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), has passed away. His death was confirmed on Saturday morning at an undisclosed hospital.
Oluwatuyi, who was appointed SSG by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in January 2024, had also served in the same capacity during the administration of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, cementing his role as a key figure in Ondo State’s political sphere.
In December, Oluwatuyi was involved in a severe auto accident along the Ife-Ibadan Expressway. The accident occurred when the vehicle he was traveling in veered off the road, resulting in critical injuries. He was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife, Osun State. Despite extensive medical care, he succumbed to his injuries.

Oluwatuyi’s passing is a profound loss for Ondo State, where he was widely regarded as a dedicated public servant and influential leader. Tributes have poured in from across the state, highlighting his commitment to governance and service.
