The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, has emphasized that the establishment of the North West Development Commission (NWDC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will effectively address the infrastructure deficiencies in the seven states within the North West geopolitical zone.
President Tinubu signed the NWDC establishment Bill on July 23 this year, a move championed by Senator Barau to tackle the challenges encountered in the geopolitical zone due to the activities of Boko Haram insurgents and bandits.
During a meeting with constituents from Shanono local government area of Kano North Senatorial District at the National Assembly in Abuja, Senator Barau expressed confidence in the imminent commencement of the commission.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau affirmed that the seven states in the North West geopolitical zone would witness rapid infrastructural progress under the commission.
He reassured his constituents of President Tinubu’s unwavering dedication to addressing the issues affecting all regions of the country, urging everyone to support the president’s efforts in propelling the nation towards advancement and prosperity.
“President Tinubu is resolute and diligently working to alleviate the hardships faced by the populace. We implore you to continue praying for the president, as his concern is for the betterment of the North. The NWDC recently endorsed for us will be headquartered in Kano, and I can guarantee that it will effectively bridge the infrastructure gaps across the entire North West geopolitical zone.
“Let us persist in backing the president and the government to ensure the implementation of their ambitious policies and programs. In the parliament, we will remain steadfast in providing the necessary legislative support to invigorate our country’s economy for the collective welfare of all,” he stated.
In an earlier address, the Chairman of the APC Caucus of the LGA, Alhaji Adamu Saidu, hailed Senator Barau as an exceptional legislator dedicated to the advancement of the North and the nation as a whole.
He commended the positive impact of the recent fertilizer distribution by the Deputy President of the Senate on the grassroots, facilitating enhanced agricultural productivity that is poised to yield bountiful harvests.
“Your initiatives and interventions are exceptional, setting you apart as a standout figure among numerous politicians. We are here to express our gratitude for your generous support, particularly the fertilizer distribution. It has revolutionized farming practices in our community.
