The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has issued a warrant for the arrest of a British nationalist, Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey, who is suspected of financing terrorism in the country.
During a press briefing in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that Andrew Wynne had orchestrated the establishment of a network of sleeper cells with the intention of destabilizing the government and causing chaos in the nation.
Lucky Ehis Obiyan, believed to be a local coordinator for Andrew, has also been declared wanted by the police as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigations have uncovered that Andrew Wynne, a British national, utilized various fronts such as an Iva Valley Bookshop and STARS of Nations Schools to conceal his subversive activities.
He is accused of providing financial support and strategic direction to local collaborators in an attempt to incite violence against law enforcement and military facilities, with the goal of provoking international condemnation of the Nigerian government.
In light of these findings, Andrew Wynne has fled the country, prompting a global search for him and Lucky Ehis Obiyan. Furthermore, ten suspects allegedly involved in the conspiracy have been arraigned in court for charges including Criminal Conspiracy, Terrorism Financing, Treasonable Felony, Subversion, and Cybercrime.
The police clarified that the invitation extended to certain individuals within the NLC leadership is not related to their union activities but rather to investigate their association with Andrew Wynne’s illicit activities in Nigeria.
Following discussions with the NLC President, the police have gained a deeper understanding of the extent of Andrew Wynne’s subversive network and operations.
