The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has launched the distribution of food baskets provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) as part of its 2025 ETA’AM Basket Project in Nigeria.
The distribution took place at the Damare Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Girei Local Government Area. Representing the state governor, Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, was the Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration, Mr. Bello Hamadiram. NEMA’s Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, was represented by Dr. Onimode Bandele Abdullahi, the agency’s Director of Planning, Research, and Forecasting. Other key attendees included NEMA’s Director of Special Duties, Mrs. Fatima Kasim, and Mallam Suleiman Yakubu, Director of NEMA’s North East Zone, along with a delegation from KSrelief led by Mr. Al Yuosef Abdulkarim Abdou-Mohsen and Mr. Alotairi Badr Muslat.
Governor Fintiri, through his representative, expressed gratitude to KSrelief for their generous support and commended NEMA’s efforts in coordinating emergency relief initiatives. He also appealed for further assistance from KSrelief to strengthen rehabilitation and reintegration efforts for disaster-affected and vulnerable populations in the state.
In her remarks, the DG of NEMA, represented by Dr. Onimode, praised Saudi Arabia’s continued humanitarian support through KSrelief, emphasizing its crucial role in complementing the Federal Government’s efforts to assist disaster-affected Nigerians.

The KSrelief team lead, Mr. Alyousef Abdulkarim Abdou-Mohsen, explained that the initiative aims to distribute 4,900 food baskets—each weighing 59.8 kg—to 2,450 households in both Adamawa and Kebbi States, benefiting a total of 30,000 people. He highlighted that this initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader commitment to global food security.
The KSrelief project in Nigeria is being implemented in partnership with NEMA, reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting those in need.
