The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered critical medical supplies and relief materials to victims of the recent explosions in Maiduguri, as part of efforts to support treatment and humanitarian recovery.
The intervention, carried out on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, saw NEMA provide medical consumables and assorted medicaments for injured victims, alongside food and non-food items for affected families.
The agency’s Director-General, Zubaida Umar, led the delivery during a high-level visit to the city alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima.
During the visit, Shettima expressed sympathy for the victims and reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring their full recovery. At the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where several injured persons are receiving treatment, the Vice President informed hospital management that the supplies were provided through NEMA to strengthen ongoing medical efforts.

Other dignitaries present included Borno State Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Special Duties, Kaka Shehu Lawan.
The intervention highlights the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to delivering timely humanitarian assistance and medical support to victims of emergencies across Nigeria.
