The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Barrister Ola Olukoyede, is set to deliver a keynote address on Wednesday, August 6, at a high-level policy dialogue focusing on challenges plaguing Nigeria’s real estate sector.
Organised by The Law Corridor, a prominent Nigerian law firm, the quarterly flagship event will bring together key players from the public and private sectors to engage in solution-driven discussions on fraudulent activities undermining the integrity of the real estate ecosystem.
The dialogue, scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Abuja Continental Hotel on Ladi Kwali Street, will feature prominent figures including the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda; Managing Partner of Omaplex Law Firm, Oyetola Muyiwa Atoyebi, SAN, FCIArb (UK); and the Managing Partner of Afe Babalola & Co., Kehinde Ogunwumiju, OFR, SAN, FCIArb (UK).
Other notable attendees include Harry Erin, Director of the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML), alongside stakeholders involved in regulation, development, and legal enforcement within the real estate value chain.

Key topics to be addressed include illegal property sales, proliferation of fake developers and unlicensed agents, fraudulent investments, non-compliance with regulatory standards, anti-money laundering strategies, and access to legal remedies.
At the conclusion of the event, The Law Corridor will publish a policy brief highlighting key insights, stakeholder recommendations, and a reform roadmap. The brief will be submitted to relevant government ministries and regulatory agencies to inform policymaking and strengthen oversight of the sector.
