The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has concluded accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj in both Makkah and Madinah, ahead of the deadlines set by Saudi Arabian authorities.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, assuring stakeholders, pilgrims and the general public that the accommodation uploads have been completed and duly approved by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to the Commission, the early completion of the process aligns with a directive by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, GCON, mandating that all critical Hajj arrangements be finalised within Saudi-approved timelines to protect Nigeria’s operational interests and ensure smooth participation in the pilgrimage.
The statement, signed by Ahmad Muazu, Technical Assistant (Media) to the NAHCON Chairman, noted that Professor Usman acknowledged the Vice President’s guidance and sustained support throughout the exercise.
He also commended the contributions of the high-level delegation dispatched to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Board, the Nusuk Masar team, the leadership of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, NAHCON staff and other key stakeholders involved in the accommodation process.

With the successful conclusion of this phase, Nigeria has secured its accommodation slots for the 2026 Hajj and is now ranked among countries that have met this critical requirement within the stipulated Saudi timelines.
NAHCON said the Commission will now proceed to the next phase of operational preparations for the 2026 Hajj, as part of efforts to ensure efficient service delivery and a seamless pilgrimage experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
