Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has celebrated the remarkable achievement of students from Myrtle Vine Academy, Onitsha, who excelled at the 2025 Global Schools Connect Tournament held in London, United Kingdom.
The school proudly represented Nigeria in the international competition, standing shoulder to shoulder with top schools from the UK and across the world. Their winning project, BizApp, was a standout innovation aimed at addressing Africa’s pressing unemployment and production challenges.
The virtual event, held on June 19, was designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, oratory, and reasoning skills among students from participating countries.
Dr. Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, described the students’ performance as a testament to Anambra’s tradition of excellence.
“By demonstrating extraordinary intelligence, our students outperformed their peers globally, winning the Director’s Award for Social Enterprise and placing as runners-up in the Creative Impact Award category,” she said.
She praised the Myrtle Vine Academy leadership for nurturing young minds and exposing them to international platforms.

“I commend the school’s management for their dedication to academic excellence and their vision in preparing students for global academic contests. Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration remains committed to ensuring that every Anambra child has access to inclusive, quality, and competitive education,” she added.
Dr. Soludo expressed confidence that the state would continue to distinguish itself on the global stage, saying, “May Anambra continue to shine.”
