Dr. Dele Alake, Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals Development, has announced the premiere of a television drama series titled Hidden Riches, set to debut on January 25, 2025.
The series aims to spotlight the complexities and vast potential of Nigeria’s mining sector, emphasizing its critical role in national development.
Hidden Riches will air weekly on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network Service every Saturday from 8:05 pm to 8:30 pm.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Tomori, the Hourable Minister described the series as a transformative platform to illuminate the opportunities and challenges within Nigeria’s mining industry. “This television series seeks to deepen understanding and foster support for the growth of the sector,” he stated.
The series is produced by Take 7 Media and directed by Bem Pever and Nwamaka Chikezie, Hidden Riches features an exceptional cast, including Sydney Diala, Lara Owoeye-Wise, Iveren Antiev, and Alex Jibrin.
Dr. Alake highlighted the series’ significance in driving public awareness about the pivotal role of solid minerals in economic transformation. “Through its compelling narrative, Hidden Riches explores the interconnected lives of miners, politicians, activists, and everyday citizens as they navigate the opportunities and challenges of unlocking Nigeria’s subterranean wealth.
“It underscores the transformative potential of solid minerals as a cornerstone for sustainable economic growth and effective resource management,” he explained.
