The Director-General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (MCO), Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to strengthen collaboration between the two key regulatory institutions. The Registrar-General of CAC, Hussain Ishaq Magagi, SAN, warmly received the MCO delegation at the commission’s headquarters.
During the visit, both agencies exchanged commemorative plaques to symbolize their commitment to building a robust partnership. The collaboration seeks to leverage the expertise of the MCO and CAC to enhance transparency, efficiency, and good governance in Nigeria’s mining sector and broader corporate landscape.
Engr. Nkom highlighted the strides made by the MCO in digitizing mineral title administration through its acclaimed eMC+ system, which has boosted transparency and revenue generation. He stressed that working closely with the CAC will further streamline regulatory processes and ensure greater compliance within the mining sector.

On his part, Magagi disclosed that the CAC has upgraded its facilities to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure rigorous screening of companies before registration, reinforcing its role in promoting accountability. He commended the MCO for its leadership in deploying technology to improve service delivery and emphasized the significance of the partnership.
The courtesy visit aligns with ongoing reforms to strengthen Nigeria’s regulatory framework and foster sustainable sectoral growth. Senior management officials from both organizations attended the meeting.
