Residents of the Maraban Rido and Juji Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have commended The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) for donating relief materials, Bibles, and back-to-school packs worth ₦21.3 million.
A total of 1,305 households benefited from the outreach, receiving food items and essential supplies, while 3,505 copies of the Bible were distributed to residents who could read. Children in the camps also received back-to-school kits.
In a letter signed by the Camp Commandant, Comrade Adams Sule, the residents expressed gratitude, noting that the gesture brought them “relief, comfort, and renewed hope” amid the hardships of displacement.
The letter stated that the spiritual and material support from BSN had strengthened their faith and met both physical and emotional needs. It further prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the organisation.
The traditional ruler of the community, Dajkachi Auta Ganyi, also lauded BSN during a courtesy visit, describing the support as unprecedented and the first of its kind in the community.
Representing BSN at the event, Mr. Laniru Dare of the Kaduna Area Office said the intervention was carried out under the organisation’s Macedonian Call project, which targets vulnerable and underserved communities. He explained that BSN’s mandate goes beyond Scripture distribution to addressing the welfare needs of disadvantaged Nigerians.

Dare reassured the IDPs of God’s love and encouraged them to remain hopeful despite their challenges.
Initiated in 2018, the Macedonian Call project has provided support to over 50,000 people across IDP camps and slum settlements nationwide, including communities in Adamawa, Lagos, Benue, Edo, Kogi States and the Federal Capital Territory.
