In a bid to advocate for Menstrual Hygiene, Maden Healthcare Foundation (MHF) has involved the community in breaking the taboos and hindrances that impede girls and women from accessing education and opportunities.
This empowerment promotes equality, ensuring that girls, particularly in rural areas, can actively engage in school and society without being hindered by inadequate menstrual health conditions.
MHF, a non-governmental organization committed to menstrual hygiene, school health, and medical outreach, plays a pivotal role in advancing the objectives of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, observed annually on the 17th of October.
Through its tripartite focus, the foundation actively strives to address disparities and enhance the welfare of marginalized communities, aligning with the theme for the year 2024: “Ending Social and Institutional Oppression: Collaborating for Equitable, Peaceful, and Comprehensive Societies.”
Dr. Eseoghene Okparavero-Agbatutu, the Founder/CEO of Maden Healthcare Foundation, expressed that through its School Health Programs, the foundation tackles the health discrepancies faced by children in underserved areas.
By imparting health education and conducting screenings, Maden Healthcare Foundation ensures that students maintain good health, attend school regularly, and pave the way for a brighter future, disrupting the cycle of poverty through education and screenings; guiding the students to suitable healthcare providers.
The foundation’s Medical Missions bring essential healthcare services to remote and marginalized communities, where access to medical facilities is often restricted. By offering complimentary and occasionally heavily subsidized healthcare services, Maden Healthcare Foundation diminishes health disparities and bolsters the well-being of vulnerable populations, guaranteeing that everyone, irrespective of their societal status or location, can access the necessary care.
Collectively, these endeavors epitomize Maden Healthcare Foundation’s dedication to fostering equitable, peaceful, and inclusive societies, in accordance with the aspirations of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
