The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Thursday at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja, where stakeholders across the country unanimously reaffirmed their support for Chief (Dr.) Kolawole Adewoyin as the authentic National President of the association, in line with the Supreme Court judgment.
The well-attended AGM brought together members and industry players from all zones, providing a platform to assess IPMAN’s performance, address sector challenges, and outline strategies for strengthening stability in the downstream petroleum industry.
In his keynote address, Chief Adewoyin commended members for their resilience in sustaining petroleum products distribution and safeguarding energy security despite economic and regulatory headwinds. He stressed unity, innovation, and accountability as pillars for repositioning IPMAN to play a stronger role in Nigeria’s economic growth.
“We have navigated challenges, adapted to changes, and continued to serve our nation with utmost dedication. As we look to the future, let us reaffirm our commitment to excellence, innovation, and unity of purpose,” Adewoyin said.
The AGM also reaffirmed IPMAN’s readiness to partner with the Dangote Refinery for seamless distribution of refined products nationwide, describing the project as a game-changer for the downstream sector. Adewoyin further pledged IPMAN’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms in the oil and gas industry, noting that the policies will drive investment, efficiency, and transparency.

Stakeholders hailed the peaceful conduct of the elections as a reflection of renewed unity in the association. Chairman of the Kaduna Depot, Alhaji Musa Tanko, described the outcome as credible and transparent, stressing that members stand firmly behind Adewoyin’s leadership to ensure IPMAN plays its rightful role in supporting Nigeria’s economy.
The AGM reaffirmed the association’s guiding principles of transparency, fairness, accountability, and sustainable development, while members renewed their commitment to work together in advancing energy security, strengthening supply chains, and enhancing collaboration with NNPC Limited and other key stakeholders.
