Giwa Empowers Over 500 APC Members in Lagos, Expands Grassroots Support Drive

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Mr. Sola Giwa, has launched a humanitarian empowerment programme that has benefited more than 500 members of his constituency, underscoring a renewed push for grassroots support and party strengthening.
Speaking at the seed empowerment programme held on Thursday in Lagos, Giwa said the initiative was designed to give back to his constituency while also encouraging party registration. Describing himself as a grassroots politician, he noted that beneficiaries were required to be registered members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He explained that the programme, initially planned for 200 people, was expanded to 500 due to growing interest and support, with the number of beneficiaries eventually rising to 700.
Giwa stressed that the exercise was not about the amount disbursed but about appreciating party members for their commitment and sacrifices. “This is purely giving back to my constituency, my little contribution to the party that gave me the platform to serve,” he said, adding that the gesture symbolised gratitude to those who worked tirelessly to secure the party’s mandate.

Similarly, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Lagos Island Constituency II, Mr. Olanrewaju Afinni, praised Giwa for easing the burden on elected officials, describing the intervention by an appointed official as both commendable and impactful.
