The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Felix Theman, has appealed to motorists using the Gwagwalada–Giri highway to remain patient as efforts intensify to ease the gridlock caused by stranded trucks.
Speaking to newsmen on Thursday, Theman explained that the gridlock followed a misunderstanding involving truck drivers, which has since been resolved with the relevant authorities. However, the situation worsened because many of the trailers and trucks lacked functional batteries to restart their vehicles after the resolution.

To address the challenge, the FRSC said it had gone the extra mile by hiring batteries for the drivers to enable them to restart and move their vehicles off the road.
Theman urged motorists to exercise restraint and make use of the only available lane pending the full clearance of the trucks. He assured that FRSC personnel remain on the ground to control traffic, enforce lane discipline, and restore free flow along both the Gwagwalada–Giri and Gwagwalada–Kuje routes.
