Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, has launched a major agricultural support initiative by distributing improved seedlings and essential farming inputs to farmers across the ten local government areas of Osun East Senatorial District. The move is aimed at strengthening food security, promoting agricultural development, and reducing poverty.
The distribution, held on Saturday in Ilase-Ijesa ahead of the new farming season, featured 50,000 palm kernel tree seedlings, 37,000 cocoa seedlings, 60,000 cassava stems, 10,000 sprayers, and 12,000 units of agricultural chemicals—all designed to enhance farm productivity and resilience.
Farmers from Obokun, Oriade, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Ife Central, Ife North, Ife South, and Ife East local government areas benefited from the program.
Leading the exercise on behalf of Senator Fadahunsi, Hon. Akindele Famuyide (Jagu) reaffirmed the senator’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and sustainable agriculture. He described the effort as one of several planned interventions to support rural farmers and ensure long-term food sufficiency in the state.
Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation, with community leader Chief Ojo commending Senator Fadahunsi for his consistent delivery of democratic dividends and sustained engagement with constituents.

Local stakeholders hailed the initiative as timely and impactful, noting that the inputs would significantly reduce production costs and improve yields. Hon. Olasunkanmi Makinde added that the support would not only increase food supply but also boost income for farming households.
This initiative is part of Senator Fadahunsi’s broader legislative agenda focused on economic empowerment, community development, and sustainable livelihood programs across Osun East.
