
Prominent political figures and dignitaries gathered in Abuja for the wedding fatiha of the children of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin.
The event took place at the National Mosque after the two raka’at Juma’at prayers.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, governors, senators, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, were among the notable attendees. Mamman Daura, nephew of former President Muhammadu Buhari, also graced the occasion.
The ceremony celebrated the union of Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba), son of Senator Barau, and Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the former Emir of Bichi, as well as Aisha Barau I. Jibrin and Engineer Abubakar Abdulmunaf Sarina, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of Azman Group of Companies.

President Tinubu, represented by Speaker Tajuddeen Abbas, served as both Wakil and Waliy for Senator Barau’s children. Dr. Ganduje acted as Waliy for Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, while former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, served as Wakil for Engineer Abubakar.
The ceremony was attended by several governors, including Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara State), Peter Mbah (Enugu State), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara State), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina State), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi State), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe State).
A significant number of senators were also present, including former Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Ali Ndume, Sani Musa, Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, Aminu Iya Abbas, Buhari Abdulfatai, and many others, showcasing the event’s importance within Nigeria’s political sphere.
