Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has celebrated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, describing him as a courageous reformer, fearless patriot, and unwavering optimist in Nigeria’s future.
In a statement issued by his Directorate of Media and Public Affairs on Saturday, Bamidele highlighted Tinubu’s landmark achievements in the past 22 months despite prevailing challenges.
He noted that the president, alongside his economic team, has been steering the country away from economic regression and laying the foundation for a globally competitive economy. According to him, Tinubu has boldly addressed the country’s rentier system and implemented key reforms to foster long-term stability.
Acknowledging the initial difficulties posed by the removal of fuel and forex subsidies, Bamidele stated that these reforms are now yielding positive results, with food and fuel prices gradually declining.
The statement read in part:
“I truly celebrate the 16th President of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as he graciously turns 73 today. He remains committed to charting a new course for our nation.
“President Tinubu is a fearless patriot and a leader driven by generational impact rather than political reelection. Since assuming office 22 months ago, he has focused on transformative reforms that are restoring stability and confidence in the economy.
“Within this short period, he has signed the Student Loans Bill, increased the national minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000, and overseen significant GDP growth, with inflation showing signs of decline.
“Statutory allocations to state and local governments have risen, providing more resources for development and preventing an economic crisis.”

Furthermore, he commended the president’s dedication to social welfare programs, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, the Health Sector Renewal Initiative, and the Renewed Hope Homes project, all designed to uplift Nigerians across different social strata.
Celebrating Tinubu’s leadership, Bamidele prayed for divine strength and wisdom to guide him in steering Nigeria toward a prosperous future.
