Commending Ganduje’s forward-thinking governance, the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recent gubernatorial election in Edo State has been lauded by Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, as a clear vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Senator Barau, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, emphasized the paramount significance of the people’s voice in any democratic setting.
Following the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Senator Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the election, Senator Barau expressed his appreciation for INEC’s commitment to upholding the will of the electorate as reflected in their votes.
He further praised the insightful leadership of the national chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, attributing the party’s success in the election to his unifying guidance.
In his statement conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau extended his congratulations to the governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and all supporters of the APC for their well-deserved victory. He underscored that this triumph not only signifies a win for the APC but also for democracy and the people of Edo State.
Senator Barau also highlighted the people’s confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and performance since assuming office, as well as the instrumental role played by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in enhancing the party’s unity and paving the way for success in the election.
Urging the governor-elect to exhibit grace in victory, Senator Barau called upon all other candidates who participated in the election to join hands in propelling Edo State towards progress.
