The APC Ilaje Support Group, representing individuals of Ilaje descent residing in Lagos State, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his decisive victory in the recently concluded Ondo State gubernatorial election held on Saturday, 16th November 2024.
In a press statement issued from Igbokoda, located in the Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, and signed by the group’s Chairman, Aare Olabode Thomas Ojabogun, and Secretary, Engr. Tunde Omojuwa, the group commended the people of Ondo State for their peaceful and orderly participation across all 18 local government areas during the election. They applauded the electorate for demonstrating a commitment to democracy by re-electing Governor Aiyedatiwa.
The group also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its exceptional management of the electoral process, which ensured a free, fair, and credible election, reflecting the genuine will of the people.
Furthermore, the APC Ilaje Support Group praised security agencies for their professionalism, neutrality, and dedication to maintaining peace before, during, and after the election. The group’s statement recognized their efforts as instrumental in the success of the electoral process.
The media and election observers were similarly commended for their impartiality and professionalism, which contributed significantly to strengthening democratic principles and bolstering the credibility of the election.
Describing the election as a triumph for democracy and the collective will of the people, the group reiterated its belief that this victory underscores the importance of unity and active participation in governance, which are vital pillars of democracy.
In their statement, the APC Ilaje Support Group Lagos also called on other aspirants who participated in the election to accept the results as a shared responsibility. They urged them to collaborate with Governor Aiyedatiwa in advancing the development of Ondo State for the benefit of all its citizens.
