Wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to former Senator Uche Ekwunife, demanding a public apology and retraction of what she described as “malicious and fabricated lies” against her family, or risk legal action.
In a statement released on Saturday in Awka, Soludo accused Ekwunife, the current Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of crossing a “red line” by dragging her children into political disputes.
“My weapons are decency, character, and grace. In all my life, I have lived an incredibly quiet family life, shunning publicity. One of the reasons I hate politics is precisely the kind of shameless obscenities from Uche Ekwunife in the name of politics,” Soludo said.
She expressed disappointment over the personal nature of the attacks, especially given her past acquaintance with Ekwunife, but said she would give her “a chance to repent” by recanting the allegations and tendering an unreserved apology within 72 hours.
“Take note, Uche Ekwunife, that if you fail to do so, I will take every step necessary to ensure justice and restitution. My lawyers have also been put on notice,” she warned.

In her statement, Soludo further challenged Ekwunife to publicly swear an oath of marital fidelity before the Blessed Sacrament and called for both families to undergo paternity tests for their children at three separate hospitals in London, pledging to bear the full costs.
The controversy followed a viral clip in which Ekwunife allegedly claimed that Mrs. Soludo had close personal ties with former Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju. As of press time, Ekwunife had yet to respond to the ultimatum.
