Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Government of Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC), has announced major progress in preparations for the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2), set to convene leaders and stakeholders from September 8–10, 2025 at the Addis International Convention Center (AICC), with pre-summit events scheduled for September 5–7, 2025.
Under the banner “Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Africa’s Resilient and Green Development,” ACS2 is poised to become a landmark gathering, reinforcing Africa’s role as a driver of global climate solutions while unlocking investments for a sustainable future.
High-Level Mandated Events: Opening and closing ceremonies, national statements, more than 50 high-level and technical panels, and the Adoption of the Addis Ababa Declaration.
Over 180 Side Events: Covering critical issues such as nature-based and technological solutions, agriculture and food systems, clean energy, health, just transitions, green minerals, early warning systems, and reforms to global financial architecture.
24 Pavilions ans 30+ Exhibitions: Showcasing innovative green technologies, partnerships, and private sector contributions.
Distinguished Speakers: African heads of state, regional leaders, and global figures, including the UN Secretary, General, are confirmed to participate.
Pre-Summit Platforms: The 13th Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-XIII), the African Youth Climate Assembly 2025, and the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) meeting.
Africa at the Center of Global Climate Talks, ACS2 will run in tandem with Climate Week 2025 (CW2), both hosted at AICC, creating a unique opportunity to amplify African priorities within global negotiations. Together, these back-to-back events will strengthen synergies between continental climate action and international policy frameworks.
