THE Department of State Services (DSS) has detained a man identified as Kennedy Tabuko for questioning over alleged attempts to incite the public against government policies.
According to reports, Tabuko, who describes himself as the leader of an organization called the Niger Delta Development Initiative, was intercepted by security operatives while attempting to stage a protest at the National Assembly on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
A senior security source told Vanguard that Tabuko’s actions included mobilizing youths to demonstrate against policies of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The source clarified that Tabuko was “merely invited for questioning” after his repeated efforts to incite unrest were flagged.
The DSS is reportedly conducting a thorough investigation into Tabuko’s activities to uncover his motives and identify potential collaborators.

“His recent attempt to blackmail the government through organized protests against NNPC policies is being scrutinized,” the source added.
This development underscores the government’s stance against activities perceived as threats to public order and national security.
