Senator Ajagunnla-Oodua Olubiyi Fadeyi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and representative of Osun Central Senatorial District, has flagged off the construction of a 1-kilometre access road at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, describing it as a major step toward improving healthcare delivery and infrastructure in the district.
Fadeyi also announced presidential approval for the construction of five kilometres of roads across Osun Central, with the hospital access road forming a key component of the intervention.
The remaining four kilometres, he said, will link other parts of the senatorial district, improving rural road access for farmers, traders and commuters, and stimulating economic activities in underserved communities.
“This project will transform mobility and healthcare delivery in our region,” the lawmaker stated in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Digital Media and Publicity, Bashorun Adekanola Desmond.
According to the statement, the official flag-off ceremony is scheduled to hold later in March and will be led by the senator. Preliminary site clearing has already commenced at the hospital, signalling the commencement of full-scale construction work.

The access road is expected to ease movement within the teaching hospital, enhance emergency response time, and improve access for patients, medical personnel and visitors.
Observers say the initiative underscores Fadeyi’s focus on strengthening infrastructure and supporting healthcare development across Osun Central.
