NASS to Reconvene February 17 for Crucial Decisions

The National Assembly has announced that both chambers will reconvene plenary on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, with indications that critical decisions will be taken during the session.

In an official notice issued by the Office of the Clerk, Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members were informed that the Senate and the House of Representatives would resume plenary at 11:00 a.m. respectively.

The announcement, signed by Kamoru Ogunlana, Clerk to the National Assembly, urged all lawmakers to take note and adjust their schedules to ensure full attendance.

According to the statement, “very crucial decisions shall be taken by each Chamber during the session,” underscoring the significance of the reconvening.

The notice did not specify the nature of the decisions to be considered, but the call for members to reschedule their engagements suggests a high-stakes legislative sitting as the Assembly resumes its plenary activities.
